I am happy to be in place of editor-in-chief in the World Journal of Dentistry. Launching of this journal will be one the greatest achievements in my career. I relish being helm of this job. I am fortunate to have team of well renowned national and international academicians, research scholars, peer reviewers, board of directors and the office bearers to be the part of this organization. On behalf of the organization I congratulate and appreciate the interest shown in launching our organization. Clinical problems are large with newer diseases, changing lifestyles, increasing expectations of life and many more. It’s a new challenge, let us start from nothing and learn as we go, let's put talent to work, let us join together and be in forefront of change in expanding scope and redefining health care in Dental science.
Oral health is integral part of general health. There is definitive change in our wonderful field of Dentistry and it is important to adapt quality oral health care. Health care is in everyone's mind, with changing trends, our concern will be to update knowledge, provide latest treatment options which are ethical and unbiased. Important clinical data are missing, let's organize and locate them. We have to get the research to practice and bridge the gap knowledge. With all these issues, we all have to join, support each other to use the full scope of knowledge and education for patient's benefit. Results of this should be an improved optimum patient care. Better judgment should prevail.
In the coming decade dentistry is bound to undergo rapid change. Interdisciplinary approach is the need of the hour. Specialty in dentistry is undergoing a significant progress in delivering oral health services. Each specialty has grown tremendously in past few years. These improvements have to complement each other and the innovative technologies have to be taken to the general dental practice. Claims about innovations have to be tested and new solutions have to be validated. I am sure IAGD will provide the much needed platform to participate, share knowledge, contribute, discuss, update in promoting oral health. I am sure this organization will provide a window of opportunity to address the issues and add value to the membership.
I seek support of all interested faculty members, institutions, practitioners, and regulators to give their inputs, comments and valuable suggestions. We have an outstanding editorial board and peer reviewers. Official Publications of this organization is aimed to generate interest, distinguish being readable, simple. Let it be more influential and lasting. Never the least I would thank Jaypee brother's for being our official publishers. Write to be understood, speak to be heard, read to grow.
