Aug-2012, Highly successful International event- Masterclass in oral pathology, medicine and microbiology

Department of Oral Pathology, M.S. Ramaiah Dental College & Hospital in association with International Association of General Dentistry (IAGD) organised a two day continuing dental education (CDE) program titled “ Master class in oral pathology, medicine and microbiology” and “ Publish or Perish” on 10th and 11th August 2012. The program was inaugurated by Dr. D.V. Guruprasad- Chief Executive, Gokula education foundation (GEF); Dr. S. Kumar -President GEF; Dr. Sreenivasa Murthy- Principal, MSRDC; Dr. Raghunath Puttaiah- IAGD international advisory board member; Dr. Roopa Rao- HOD, Dept of Oral pathology MSRDC.

Internationally renowned speakers Prof. Saman Warnakulasuriya (Chair in Oral Medicine & Experimental Pathology at King's College London, UK) and Prof. Lakshman Samaranayake (Dean and Chair of Oral Microbiology at the Faculty of Dentistry. University of Hong Kong), pioneers in the field of Oral Medicine and Oral Microbiology graced the occasion and delivered excellent informative lectures on their areas of expertise. Topics discussed on the first day were “Oral precancer & cancer”, “Oral biofilms”, “ Oral candidiasis”. “Research methodology” and “Publishing your work” were the highlights of the second day. More than 400 delegates from various parts of the country were part of the programme. The event was well appreciated for its meticulous organisation and high quality intellectual content. Dr Shankargouda Patil secretary IAGD was present on the occasion.
